Whoa

So I just got home from watching the BSG finale with my brother and I can safely say that I'm... ambivalent. Contemplating fic, naturally, but not about something from the finale.

BSG!

So, season 4.5 of BSG is finally coming to Yes. When are they showing it? Daily. At midnight. Excellent timing, guys.

Oh, what the hell. At least it starts next week and I will finally see it OMG. *Dies*

In other news, I finished The Bone Doll's Twin last night and I'm going to order the rest of the series in a couple of months. I have all sorts of thoughts, which I may post about later.

Mmm, Pop Culture

So, yesterday was Tuesday, AKA family visit day, AKA pop culture immersion day. I got an early start because I had to leave work early for a doctor's appointment. I watched the last three episodes of season 3 of BSG, as well as episode 8 of True Blood. I also read about half of this month's comics, and some of the rest today.

Rewatching the first few eps of BSG I ever saw (in their entirety) made a lot more sense in context, naturally. I still feel as though !!! )

Comics! I haven't read BtVS (the Harmony issue) or Madame Xanadu yet. For length more than spoilers. )

BSG

We are midway through S3 of BSG reruns. I'll want to rewatch the first half of S4, since so much went over my head the first time. Hopefully we'll get 4.5 sometime next month, although I'm debating reading spoilers since spoilers )

I am basically really speculating in thin air, but I'm actually really looking forward to the sequel, because I want to know more about how the Cylons were designed and created, to see if it matches up to my speculation.

I am also wondering whether I should make BSG Sims to integrate into my crossover neighborhood, and if so, who I should pick. I usually pick families of characters that I feel were a bit neglected. For instance, Alex Rousseau is living with her mother and has just had twins, who I named Valentine and Theodore. The most family-like structures in BSG are the least neglected, except... Hmm. I don't know.

TV News

YES! Finally! Lost airs on Hot a mere three days after airing in the US, an improvement over last season's five days. I get the premiere this Saturday.

No news on BSG yet, but between YouTube webisode comments, IO9 tipoffs and a political blog (of all places), I've accumulated a spoiler and a half at least. They're rerunning at a rate of five chapters a week, being halfway through S2 at present, that's another ten weeks or about two and a half months before we get the final season.

BSG

OKAY. OKAY. I'm not reading spoilers. I don't want to know who the Final Cylon is. Just tell me Felix is okay.

...Someone?

BSG. OMG.

The spoilers for BSG 4.5 are starting to pour in and OMG. I WANT TO READ THEM. I MUST NOT. But resisting temptation? Not my strong suit!

Meanwhile, in season 2, I am up to the Pegasus arc. It's kind of funny watching it and already knowing some of the stuff from later on, because I watched season 4. Overall, though, I'd say it's not terribly funny. Woo! They found someone I want to kick in the head more than Saul Tigh.

Cats in the Apocalypse

I slept something over twelve hours tonight, and woke up about a quarter of an hour ago. Right before I woke up, I dreamed about cats in some sort of an apocalypse. Pet cats, and they were running away from their owners. With their rugs. My brain is so weird. Then I woke up and found that I have that Christmas song with the pears stuck in my head. So now I put on some Grateful Dead, and I'm having breakfast and trying to decide what to do with my weekend.

Because, you see, my life is so geeky that my computer games are compromising my BSG marathon. *Nod* I really do love BSG, though. Even if watching 4-5 episodes in a row nearly makes my heart pop with nervousness.

TV

I was at my parents' last night because I didn't feel like going home to a cold apartment and a cheese sandwich supper. But that's not important, because what happened is, I watched The Closer and Kyra Sedgwick is the love of my life.

Seriously. I love that woman.

Why I Fail at Life

I was planning on cleaning and doing a laundry today. Instead, I played The Sims 2 and watched some Doctor Who.

Heroes S03E04

Okay... I'm sold.

I mean, it's not above criticism, I have some issues that are bigger than nit-picks, but basically, yeah. I'm feeling this storyline, finally. Spoilers )

No Access

My new laptop is delayed. They said ten days on Friday. I'm hoping it'll be less, although I can make it through another weekend. Worse come to worst, I'll spend it watching Doctor Who marathons. When I finally have it, I can rehook my home internet and return to civilization, not to mention finally listening to the two CDs my brother got me for my birthday. No, I don't have a stereo, and I'm not buying one, either.

I finished Forest Mage yesterday, and am buying Renegade Magic soon, hopefully tomorrow. Reminiscent of the original Farseer trilogy in more ways than one.

On Thursday my brother and I watched James Cotton live. It was incredible, even though I was very tired and nearly dozed off more than once. Seriously, his band was so awesome that for a second I thought the bass-player would spontaneously combust. I will seek and post clips at my soonest convenient access.

So, the Lost season finale airs here in about twenty minutes, and I am miraculously spoiler-free.

Also, xkcd brings the awesome, so what else is new.
